CREB® Charitable Foundation donates $77,000 in grants
The Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB®) Charitable Foundation contributed $77,000 in grants to four charities on December 2 during the organization’s Annual Appreciation event.
Representatives from the Boys and Girls Club of Calgary’s Avenue 15 and Safe House programs, the Calgary Drop-In Centre’s Bridgeland Manor Senior’s Housing program, Wood’s Homes’ Transitional Apartments program, and the YWCA’s Mary Dover House were at CREB® Wednesday night to receive their grants.
“We are so proud to contribute to these organizations, which help Calgarians in need receive adequate shelter,” says Rita Shannon, president of the CREB® Charitable Foundation. The work of these organizations is entirely aligned with CREB® Charitable Foundation’s programs and its mandate”.
The Foundation’s vision is to create a shelter-related legacy that meets the needs of the disadvantaged population of Calgary and area.
Since its inception in 1987, the Foundation has contributed more than $3.5 million to a wide range of charities and organizations in our community.
From 2005 to 2007, the Foundation, in partnership with the City of Calgary and the Governments of Alberta and Canada, focused on funding a single capital project. Through donations from its member REALTORS® the Calgary Real Estate Board Charitable Foundation contributed $1,500,000 to the building of The Crestwood Affordable Housing Development in the community of Millican–Ogden. This 60 unit apartment complex now houses low-income families and individuals with physical disabilities.
The Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB®) Charitable Foundation would not exist without donations and support from the tireless efforts of Calgary and area REALTORS®.
