Becoming a Real Estate Broker


To become a real estate broker or associate broker in Alberta, you must: 


Step 1: Ensure that all the prerequisites, four modules of Phase 3: Real Estate Areas of Practice in the Real Estate Associates Program, have been completed.

Step 2: Complete the Real Estate Brokers Program

Step 3: Submit an application for licensing as a broker or associate broker to the Real Estate Council of Alberta. Once your application is approved, you will be licensed to practice real estate in Alberta as a broker or associate broker. Only brokers are authorized to operate a brokerage.


Eligibility

 
Any real estate industry member applying to the Real Estate Council of Alberta for a broker or associate broker license must have documented two years of licensed experience as a real estate associate within five years preceding the application for the license.
