Who is AREA?

The Alberta Real Estate Association represents the interests and concerns of 10 regional real estate boards and more than 10,000 Alberta REALTORS®. We work for our members in six key areas to foster a standard of excellence among REALTORS® in Alberta so that they may better serve the needs of their clients:

Provincial Advocacy

We lobby and work with the provincial government and regulatory bodies to protect and support REALTORS® and real estate consumers.

Practice Support

We support REALTORS® by providing standard forms, advice and resources to raise the provincial standard of practice, build practice consistency and reduce member risk.

Professional Development

Working with the local boards, we provide REALTORS® information and strategies to enhance their careers and help them to better serve their clients.

Technology

Where member volumes can be leveraged within a provincial context, we work with the boards to establish technology tools that add value and enhance member performance.

Public Awareness - Value of a REALTOR®

We foster consumer awareness, knowledge and understanding to demonstrate REALTOR® expertise and the value a REALTOR® brings to the real estate transaction.

Leadership & Facilitation - Regionally, Nationally

In Alberta, we facilitate, with the local boards, implementation of provincial industry advancements. Nationally, we work with provincial and national real estate associations on issues and initiatives of mutual interest.
